About
Founder of Fractional First®. A discipline for designing capability within constraint.
Karen Frith is the founder of Fractional First®, a discipline for designing capability within constraint. Her work spans executive advisory, operating model design, and the development of frameworks that help organisations and professionals build resilience without sacrificing flexibility.
She came to the doctrine through exposure. Years working close to leadership teams making decisions about how work really gets done, followed by lived experience of the structural fragility that traditional consulting models mask. What emerged was not a service redesign but an operating philosophy: constraint is not a limitation, it is a design input.
Through Greenlight Partners, she works with leadership teams navigating the structural shifts in modern work. Through Fractional Futures, she extends the doctrine to the next generation of professionals, teaching operating literacy before intensity becomes burnout.
Her published work includes So You Want to Be a Fractional Consultant, a field guide for the transition, and The Fractional Advantage, a doctrine for the modern organisation. Together they map the discipline from the individual practitioner to the operating model of the enterprise.
She writes, builds and advises from the position that modern work has not broken. It has outgrown its structures. The work now is to design the structures that come next.
